We came here and was politely told there was going to be a 20 minute wait. We didn’t have to wait long until we were seated and ordered. Our waitress was awesome, the food came out real quick, despite the full-house, and it was absolutely fantastic. This was the only place where I can actually eat oysters and I don’t like oysters! Highly recommended by so many people and I’m glad to have finally tried it!By Octo K3 (2 months ago)My sister’s wedding reception was held in the private dining room. The dining room was large enough to hold our party of 40. We had 5 round tables with 6 chairs each and a rectangle table with 10 chairs. There was enough floor space for us to do couples dancing and line dancing. There’s a bar and a separate men’s and women’s bathroom in the private dining room also. I ordered a hurricane and whiskey sour from the bar–best I’ve ever had! The buffet menu consisted of red beans and rice, Cajun jambalaya, fried catfish, fried shrimp, cole slaw, french fries, and Caesar salad. Based on the attendants at the reception and their review of each item of food, along with mine, the food was wonderful! After we ate, some of us went out onto the balcony where there were 2 additional tables to enjoy the view. This is the perfect venue for an occasion consisting of 50 people or less.By Candy Thompson (5 months ago)This was one of my favorites in New Orleans. Small place but turn over was fast. Great service, good drinks, and fantastic food. I had the char grilled oysters and roast beef po boy! Wow delicious! I wanted one of the specialty drinks but they were out of the mix so I had a margarita. It didn’t disappoint! Try this place out.By Linda Bohart (3 weeks ago)It was a fair amount of time to wait to get in, but it was during their busy time of the evening. The boo fries were absolutely delicious and king of comfort food. We ordered both Char-Grilled oysters and fried oysters. The fried oysters were okay but the Char-Grill oysters were absolutely amazing! And the crab cake was definitely one of their top items as well. The service was fair to good but they were also extremely busy.By Jordan Blackwill (7 months ago)Flavor: A

This was a recommendation of our Lyft driver and she knows where the good food is at! We loved all of our meals. The tartar sauce wasn’t my favorite but I could live with it. Everything is fresh and delicious. Also, this place is open on Tuesday evenings – which we didn’t know was such a rarity in New Orleans.By Larry Ray Reed (5 months ago)

Upon looking at Deanies you would think it is tourist trap chain. However we were seated right away and the actual restaurant was very clean, unlike most places in the French quarter. The service was very friendly and food was quick for a sit down. The portions are huge and the food is amazing. Not over priced for the portions. Probably the best fried shrimp I have ever had. The onion rings were fantastic. The batter on everything is very good not to greasy and has a good spice. The BBQ shrimp were also very nice.By Tom West (2 months ago)Very good seafood. Nice selection. Good pricing. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms which were fantastic. The fried crab platter easily fed both of us and was delicious. Since they had fresh crawfish we got a pound as well and they couldn’t have been better. Fully recommend checking this place out.By David Kenmuir (9 months ago)Was it worth the wait? Definitely not. 1hr 40mins
Was it really that great? Nope.
It was fried food. And instead of telling the mob waiting to be seated they were out of oysters, the main reason we went. They told us after we were seated. Cause once you are seated at nearly 9pm, are you really going to walk out. The bloody Mary was good though.By Gary B (5 months ago)I can’t say enough about my visit to Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant. The Gluten Free options are amazing. I enjoyed fried catfish, shrimp and French fries from a safe designated fryer. For anyone who must eat Gluten Free this is something special to find for sure. Tried to go for dinner and wait was about 1 1/2 hours so decided to try for lunch time next day. Score we were seated immediately and given fast & friendly service. Thanks Deanie’s for making my Birthday a special one.By Robert S (a month ago)Today was busier than normal. Simply understandable. We really like this Seafood restaurant. My wife and I make it a point to stop whenever we are here in NOLA. We usually order the Half Seafood platter. It’s a lot and we always take a box to go. Today we wanted to try something different so we ordered the soft shell crab poo boys sandwich and the Stuff Flounder. They were both equally good. Our server was great. Very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was understaffed today but whoever showed up were in good spirits. Keep up the good work Deanie’s!!By Jonathan Labrador (5 months ago)

Popular spot, so I’d get there ahead of time because of the wait. It’s worth it! The pasta and oysters are delicious & filling. Oddly enough, I tried a small piece of fried alligator for the first time and it was pretty decent. My friends devoured that and the seafood gumbo. The chicken sandwich was basic but a good, safe option, so I would recommend it, as well. My friends took some tequila shots before we headed out to explore more of Bourbon street!By Maria (3 months ago)Fantastic service. Oysters are delicious. Their seafood sauce is the best we’ve tasted anywhere. The other dishes were also extremely tasty. It is a very busy place but it moves. Be careful when you arrive close to closing time. They will cut the line off prior to closing.
This is a must try when you’re in NOLA. Competitive prices and high quality seafood.
By Stephanie Thi (3 weeks ago)One of the best places in French Quarters for char-grilled oysters. It was so good, I came back a second time during my stay here at NO.The staff were friendly and the food didn’t take long to get to our table. We waited about 15-20 min tops.
I would highly recommend the oysters shooters, raw oysters and the char-grilled oysters. Those were the best items on the menu and what Felix’s is famous for.
As for the gumbo, do not order it. It was way too salty and it came to me cold. Hence the reason why they lost one star.
By Anna P. (5 months ago)We are in New Orleans for the weekend…..Felix constantly had a long line at the door but we really wanted to try it……We went for lunch and were seated upstairs on the balcony……We loved it!! And decided to go again the next day for dinner….We tried raw oysters, charbroiled oysters, shrimp, jambalaya and etoufee…The food was absolutely the best!!! The lines are actually not too bad and they go pretty fast. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because there are two sides of the restaurant, one is slightly more updated than the other, but they could both use a little updating… also, the menus were not very clean……. But otherwise, it’s a place to try!By Dr Fady Hachem (6 months ago)For those trying oysters- COME HERE!We came here our first night in NOLA- tried raw, fried and par-broiled. My favorite was the par-broiled by FAR!
Otis as the bar was so helpful and hospitable. He gave us a few raw on the house just to try it out- With a cracker and lemon ? ?? and the signature cocktail sauce. Sauce had just the right kick.
We came a second time just because it was such a great experience.
*The blackened alligator was awesome! Seasoned ?? (do not bother getting them fried ?)Also had the rum Sunset Cocktail in a fishbowl. ?? Shared it between two and still got a buzz.
Don’t bother waiting in line. Go around the corner and they will seat you right away at the bar. Otis is at the raw oyster bar ?

Came here with a group of 10 and actually was surprised at how quickly we got seated because it was so close to the parades that day!
Good:
I really liked the sampler dish that came with 4 different cups of dishes – my favorite was probably the Jambalaya out of them.I really liked the broiled oysters since they had a really good cheesy savory flavor. The raw oysters weren’t too bad either.
I also liked the blue crab claws since they were really unique for a dish.
Bad:
The fried alligator basically tasted like popcorn chicken so it wasn’t too special. The hush puppies were also really small so I think they weren’t a good value in the end. There were probably too many beans too in the sampler so it was all pretty similar and a lot of rice.
Overall I think this place delivered on making us super full and also giving a good authentic New Orleans experience.
By Jenny Xu (9 months ago)WRITE HOME ABOUT THIS ONE!!! This place is so good. It’s busy so beware you may have to wait, however, while waiting remember – IT’S WORTH THE WAIT. Oysters were huge – dirty outside shells but that’s part of the allure. The blackened redfish was insanely good. Get it with the lump crab on top – not a lot but it adds flavor. I had it without the jambalaya – I know – but the green beans were incredible. No idea the seasoning but I’ve been talking about them for two days. . . And I don’t like green beans! Seriously, this is a must try. Wait staff and door staff were great – fun to hang with while you’re waiting. Sat on the balcony and it moved a lot – even leaned “naturally” but it was a nice experience.By Tim (7 months ago)The food was really great. I’m not an oyster lover but I liked it. The bread pudding was amazing as well. The problem was the service. I needed to ask for the silverware each time, when I got food. Might because of the New Year’s Eve? Everything was pretty slow. That’s why I ran out of my patience and only ordered a few food.By Yi-Ling Chen (11 months ago)Outstanding! We were walking around site seeing and popped in for lunch. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. Voodoo juice, old fashioned, sampler and chargrilled oysters. So good!By Jason Watts (5 months ago)The oysters and poo boy were great. My company had the steak and they thought it was delicious as well. Nice upstairs place with a cool balcony. Downstairs also very well designed and a good bar area.By Yannick Pevenage (a month ago)
